Tioman Trip

Hello, people :)

Thought I'd post up a bit on accommodation for our tentative class trip to Tioman. Might be easier than discussing in class.

We found a place, Paya Beach Resort, that looks erm... promising (for lack of a better word). Go look it up on Google, or check out their official website at http://www.payabeach.com. There are some tourist reviews on the place as well (Google it!) and they're mostly good.

Mostly.

They have packages for 3 days 2 night stay, inclusive of accommodation, ferry from Mersing (where our bus will stop) to the island, meals (2 buffet breakfasts, 1 packed lunch, 2 buffet dinners), boat ride to nearby island for snorkeling (does not include equipment for snorkeling, though - that comes out from our own pocket).

Depending on what kind of rooms we take, and if we share a room between four people, it ranges from RM250 to RM415.

Their rooms are chalets, fully air-conditioned with hot water. So they say.

Factoring in the cost for our bus rides from KL-Mersing and Mersing-KL (RM46), we can probably keep the whole trip between RM300 to RM450, again depending on what kind of rooms you want. That's inclusive of everything except snorkeling equipment, shopping, boozing (duty free store behind the resort!), and gluttony (for all you people who whack brunch, tea, supper and six snacks a day).

And if that's still too high, we can look for even crappier cheaper places to stay.
